They are made from high carbon stainless steel and have a miniture serrated edge along one blade.
These tiny serrations are barely visible to the naked eye but they will repeatedly provide a clean cut, even on loose open weave Dyneema filaments.

Having minature tapered ends these hair stops feed easily into the smallest hair loop.
The narrow waisted middle provides a secure seat and the minature dumbell shape holds the stop firmly in place.
