Mr Steve Renyard has to take the credit for this addition to the range. Steve has been smashing the living daylights out of his favourite syndicate water for some time now on Fluorocarbon hook links. When he started fishing for Team Korda we naturally sent him some IQ. His response was: “it's a little bit stiff for what I want”.
IQ is meant to be stiff that's why we think it catches more carp than normal mono, but we are always interested in new ideas and ways of fishing so when Steve started to talk we listened.
Steve says: “first and foremost I use fluorocarbon because of its invisibility. I am so concerned about the fishes ability to detect the rig I have taken to using the standard IQ in 25lb as an anti-tangle leader.

For the last three years, we have been developing a fluorocarbon main line that ticks all the boxes – one that casts unbelievably well, sinks like a brick and is highly abrasion resistant. In fact, it’s pretty much all Danny Fairbrass uses.
Kontour, as it is known, is very soft compared to many other fluorocarbons, allowing it to quite literally peel from the spool smoothly as your lead propels through the air. This aids casting distance and accuracy.
It is also particularly heavy, ensuring that it sinks to the lake bed keeping flush and out of the carp’s way. Launched in one breaking strain, namely 12lb, it will be suitable for all manner of situations and due to its genuine knot strength will be strong, reliable and user friendly.

carp mono has been specifically designed by Team Korda to cope with all extreme fishing requirements. We have tested lines for many years in our lab and SUBline has out performed all others in terms of toughness and knot strength. It is now the only choice when faced with heavy weed, snags or the abrasive terrain of gravel.

By using the latest line extrusion technology, SUBline exhibits outstanding suppleness with the stiff wiry feel often found on super tough reel lines. In addition to all this we have added a very dense material to the formula ensuring the line sinks exceptionally well. Available in the key, popular breaking strains with the addition of a 20lb version for dealing with extra heavy duty carping and European work - subtle green and brown colours are available.

Korda Adrena-Line is accurately rated for breaking strain which means that on a Palomar knot it will break at just over its stated breaking strain. For example 12lb Adrena-Line breaks at 13lb.
What does this mean for the angler? Because Adrena-Line is honestly rated, it means that the angler knows exactly what to expect from it and because it is generally lower in diameter than other 12lbs lines, it will cast further too!!
The colour is another area we looked at closely; clear lines can actually be very obtrusive so we looked at a morphing the colour of the line along its length so that it changes shade frequently. This unquestionably helps to break up the outline and because the colour we have chosen is a naturally occurring pale brown, the line blends in well with just about any surroundings.

Although the original Hybrid hook links had many followers, the Korda product development team thought that it could be bettered. The resulting product, N-Trap Soft, is the culmination of two and a half years of development and testing.

So, why is N-Trap the best coated material on the market? Well, it features a tough, matt coating that is easy to strip yet won’t split when tightened down and the rugged Dyneema braid inner is a much better colour match for the coating than other hook links. A lot of work has gone into making changes to the original Hybrid hooklength material. The coating in particular on the new Korda Hybrid Stiff Coated Braid is obviously slightly stiffer, and Korda have spent a lot of time working on the colours of the coating through watching, on underwater cameras, the reaction to various samples in a fishing situation.
By having a stiff section of hooklink it will lie straight on the lakebed, with a small section of the stiff coating removed the soft braid end exposed next to hook gives enough movement for the hook to go in the mouth, because the rest of the hooklink is already straight the fish will have to move the minimum of distances until the lead is felt the hook starts to tale hold and hopefully the carp bolts.
The Korda Hybrid Stiff Coated Braid is rated with a 20lb breaking strain and come on 20 meter spools in both weedy green or gravel brown.
